Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DailyKhata ("we", "our", or "the App") is an offline personal expense manager developed to help you track daily income and expenses. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App. By downloading or using DailyKhata, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

DailyKhata is designed to work fully offline. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external servers.

All information you enter stays on your device only, including:

• Transaction titles, amounts, categories, and notes
• Transaction dates and types (income/expense)
• Monthly budget settings
• Dark mode and theme preferences
• PIN lock settings (if enabled)

3. How We Store Your Data

Your financial transactions are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. App preferences are stored using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This data is never automatically uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

4. PIN Lock

If you enable PIN lock, your 4-digit PIN is stored locally on your device to protect access to the App. We do not have access to your PIN, and it is never transmitted over the internet.

5. Backup & Restore

When you create a backup, the App generates a JSON file on your device. You may save or share this file using your device's share options (Files, Google Drive, email, WhatsApp, etc.). You control where backup files are stored. Restoring a backup imports data from a file you select. We do not receive, access, or process your backup files.

6. Third-Party Services

DailyKhata does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The App does not require an internet connection to function. If you choose to share a backup file through another app or cloud service, that service's own privacy policy will apply to the shared file.

7. Permissions

DailyKhata may request the following device permissions:

• Storage / Files — to create and read backup files when you use Backup & Restore
• Internet (optional) — only if required by the operating system; the App does not send your data online

We only use permissions necessary for the features you choose to use.

8. Data Security

Because your data is stored locally, you are responsible for keeping your device secure. We recommend:

• Using your device's screen lock (fingerprint, PIN, or pattern)
• Enabling DailyKhata's PIN lock feature
• Creating regular backups and storing them safely

Uninstalling the App may permanently delete local data unless you have created a backup.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it within the App, restore from a backup (which replaces existing data), or uninstall the App. We do not retain copies of your data on our servers because we do not collect it.

10. Children's Privacy

DailyKhata is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page and reflected in the App with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
