1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DailyKhata ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

DailyKhata is a personal offline expense management application that allows you to:

• Record income and expense transactions
• View transaction history with search and filters
• Analyze spending with monthly and category-wise reports
• Set a monthly budget with spending alerts
• Back up and restore your data via JSON files
• Protect the App with an optional PIN lock

The App works without an internet connection. All core features operate locally on your device.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use DailyKhata. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Enter accurate financial information to the best of your knowledge
• Use the App only for lawful personal purposes
• Maintain backups of your data if you need to preserve records
• Keep your device and PIN secure
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the App

5. No Financial Advice

DailyKhata is a record-keeping and budgeting tool only. It does not provide financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice. Charts, reports, and summaries are for informational purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

6. Data & Backups

All data is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, operating system updates, accidental deletion, App uninstallation, or forgotten PIN codes. You are strongly encouraged to use the built-in Backup feature regularly and store backup files in a safe location.

7. PIN Lock

The PIN lock feature provides basic access control within the App. It is not a substitute for your device's built-in security (screen lock, biometrics). If you forget your PIN, you may need to reinstall the App, which can result in permanent loss of local data unless you have a backup file.

8. Intellectual Property

DailyKhata, including its name, logo, design, source code, and content, is owned by Sujit Kumar and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the App without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sujit Kumar (developer of DailyKhata) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of financial records, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. App Store Terms

If you downloaded DailyKhata from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, your use of the App is also subject to that store's terms of service. In case of conflict, the store's terms may apply regarding billing, refunds, and distribution.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page and within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
